We got tired of renting our own servers back to ourselves
VirtlixCP started as an internal tool for our own dedicated servers, before we decided other hosts would want it too.
How this started
We run dedicated servers and VPSes for hosting customers, the same as a lot of people reading this. For years that meant two products: a bare metal tool for the dedicated servers and a separate VPS panel for the virtual ones. Two license bills, two client areas, two WHMCS modules, and a lot of glue between them.
So we built one control panel for both, first just to run our own racks. It installs operating systems on dedicated servers over PXE, drives IPMI and switches, and runs KVM VPSes from the same IP pools. Every feature in it started as something our own operation needed.
Why we opened it up
Other providers we knew had the same problem: good hardware, and a stack of panels that never quite fit together. Once VirtlixCP could run a whole hosting business cleanly, from OS reloads and IPMI to VPS backups and WHMCS billing, it made sense to let other people run it too.
The idea stayed the same. You install it on your own server, one license covers your dedicated servers and VPSes together, and the panel and its data stay on your network.
What we believe
Own your infrastructure. If you bought the server, the software that manages it should run on your hardware, not someone else's cloud.
One panel, not three. Dedicated servers and VPSes share IP space, clients and billing. They belong in the same place.
Moving should be easy. That is why VirtlixCP imports VPSes from Virtualizor, SolusVM and Proxmox VE, and dedicated servers from SynergyCP, instead of making you rebuild everything by hand.
Support means a person. If you email us, someone who knows the code reads it.
Where we're headed
We're a small team, and a feature request from a customer running real servers can go from idea to release in days. You can see that pace in the changelog.
