Documentation / Backup and Restore
Backing Up
Everything that matters is in three places on the panel server:
| What | Where |
|---|---|
| Database | MariaDB, database name in /var/www/virtlix-bm/.env (DB_DATABASE) |
| App settings and encryption key | /var/www/virtlix-bm/.env |
| Installer state and certificates | /etc/virtlix-bm/ |
cd /var/www/virtlix-bm
DB=$(grep ^DB_DATABASE .env | cut -d= -f2)
mysqldump --single-transaction "$DB" | gzip > /root/virtlix-db-$(date +%F).sql.gz
tar czf /root/virtlix-files-$(date +%F).tar.gz .env /etc/virtlix-bm
Copy both files off the server. The database also holds the SSH key the panel uses to reach your hypervisors, encrypted with the key in .env, so keep the two backups together.
OS images and VPS templates are not included; they download again from the catalog.
