IP Pools and Virtual MACs
Add an IP pool
Go to Network, IP Pools and fill in Create IP Pool:
- IPv4 Address: the first IP, and in the second box the last IP or just its last number
- Subnet mask and Gateway from your provider
For additional IPs at OVH, use the mask 255.255.255.255 and your server's gateway (its IP with .254 as the last number).
A pool is one continuous range. If you have IPs with gaps, create a pool for each part.
Virtual MACs
Some providers only deliver an additional IP to the MAC address they issued for it. At OVH, create one in the control panel under your IP, Add a virtual MAC, type ovh.
In the pool form, the Virtual MACs section lists every IP in the range with a box for its MAC. Each MAC saves when you leave the box. You can also manage them under VPS, Hypervisors, Virtual MACs.
A new VPS on an IP with a virtual MAC uses it automatically. For a VPS created before you added the MAC, open it and use Manage, Apply virtual MAC. It restarts with the new MAC.
