PXE, DHCP and Firewall Ports
The installer sets up the services OS reloads need on the panel server. Leave these ports open between the panel and your servers:
| Service | Port | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| HTTP and HTTPS | TCP 80, 443 | Admin area, client area and API |
| DHCP | UDP 67 | Gives a reinstalling server its IP and boot file |
| TFTP | UDP 69 | Serves the boot loaders |
| File server HTTP | TCP 4002 | Installers and per-server boot scripts |
| Samba | TCP 445 | Windows installation files |
| File server API | TCP 4000 | Used by the panel |
| File server SSH | TCP 4001 | Used by the panel to copy OS images |
| DHCP API | TCP 4003 | Used by the panel |
The DHCP server only answers servers with an OS reload in progress, so it doesn't interfere with other DHCP servers on your network.
Servers on another VLAN
Point your switch's DHCP relay (often called ip helper-address) at the panel's IP on each VLAN your servers are on.
