Documentation / Backup and Restore

Restoring

  1. Install VirtlixCP with the same domain.
  2. Stop the queue workers and restore the files and database:
systemctl stop 'virtlix-bm-queue@*'
cd /
tar xzf /root/virtlix-files-DATE.tar.gz -C /var/www/virtlix-bm .env
tar xzf /root/virtlix-files-DATE.tar.gz etc/virtlix-bm
cd /var/www/virtlix-bm
DB=$(grep ^DB_DATABASE .env | cut -d= -f2)
gunzip -c /root/virtlix-db-DATE.sql.gz | mysql "$DB"
virtlix-bm --update --force

The restored .env keeps your encryption key, so saved IPMI, switch and hypervisor credentials keep working. --update --force brings the database up to the installed version and restarts everything.
