Importing from SynergyCP or Another VirtlixCP

VPS, Import, Bare metal servers copies the inventory of a SynergyCP panel or another VirtlixCP into this one, through its API. Nothing is changed in the old panel, and nothing is sent to your switches or IPMI.

Connect the old panel

  1. In the old panel, create an API key for an admin (System, API Keys).
  2. Here, press Add panel, choose SynergyCP or VirtlixCP, and enter its API address (usually https://api.your-domain) and the key.

The panel reads the old one and shows every server with its hardware, IPs, MACs, switch port, IPMI address and client.

Import

Tick the servers and press Import. For each server you get:

  • the server with its ID, nickname, billing ID, notes, parts and boot mode
  • its network ports and MACs, and its port on the switch
  • its IP addresses and blocks (IPs from a pool are marked as used in that pool)
  • its IPMI type and logins
  • its client and their access, including suspensions

Locations, parts, switches (with their logins), IP pools and clients they use are added when they don't exist yet, matched by name, address or email. Clients get a random password and reset it with Forgot password.

Servers whose ID already exists here are skipped, so you can import in batches and run it again safely. An IP already used here is not added twice; the server is still imported and the result list says which IP was left out.

After the import, point your DHCP relay at the new panel and check one server's IPMI and switch port before you switch the old panel off.
