Documentation / Additional Configuration
First Steps
The Setup checklist at the bottom of the admin menu walks you through these steps and ticks each one off.
1. IP groups
Network, IP Groups. A group is usually one datacenter location or one VLAN. Every server and IP belongs to a group.
2. IP pools and IP entities
- Network, IP Pools: ranges the panel hands out automatically, to VPSes and to servers you provision. See IP Pools and Virtual MACs.
- Network, IP Entities: subnets assigned to a dedicated server, with their VLAN.
3. Switches
Network, Switches, Create Switch. Enter the switch's management IP, its SSH login and its SNMP community. The panel scans its ports, which you then link to servers.
4. Server parts
Hardware, Part Inventory. Add the CPU, memory and disk models you use, so servers list their real specs to clients.
5. Servers
Hardware, Servers. For each server enter its parts, its IPMI address and login, its switch port and its IP entity. Hardware, Provision assigns a free server to a client in one step.
6. Your first OS reload
Install an operating system under OS Reloads, OS Images, then open a server and start a reload. See Reinstalling a Dedicated Server.
